Private messages
|
What's that? |
|
Private messages are a cross between posts and E-mails.
Members can contact each other through their Private Message account. Exchanged information will not be displayed on the bulletin board. |
How to send a message |
|
Access your Private Message facilities:
- if you're not logged in, you can click on the link.

- if you're logged in, the link will become if you have received a message.
- when you're reading a message or viewing a profile

- when you're answering a Private Message, click on the button placed under the message.
|
|
In fact, wherever you can see the button , you can automatically get a new message window with the Username field already filled in. |
|
The Compose message window looks very much like a new message window on a forum
There are just a couple of differences:
- the field
appears at the top of the window.
- you can't attach more than one Attachment with each private message. |
How to find a name |
When you want to find the name of the person you want to contact, you can browse the list of members by using the link. You can also use the link Find a username.
|
A pop-up widow appears:
If you're not sure of the spelling of a name, the asterisk * will allow you to search the list. |
|
|
If you have left the option ticked in your profile, you are sent an E-mail each time you receive a private message.

If you have chosen to Log me on automatically each visit: when you're signing in, the link provided in the E-mail isn't really useful. It is easier to access the Bulletin Board via your Internet browser.
Some browsers support a pop-up window that will take you straight to your inbox.
