 Sailing news

Nothing much to report in the sailing scene in LSC this month, since sailing is over until the 1st April.
However, our members stay active and join other clubs for their winter series. The prime example is Piddinghoe, where Lancing sailors dominate the results. Alan Simmons very kindly posts a weekly report on our boys' exploits on the forum. Good luck to all of them!

Yotty news
How to do it in styleChristmas has come early for some of our happy members, with a new toy in the family. Have fun...

Others were having fun on big boats on the 16th December, on board Kymata with Tony White. A few LSC boys raced in the Needle Relief Race, in aid of the R.N.L.I. and came 5th overall (out of many more than that!). Although I suspect this was a cunning plan to escape D.I.Y, the results aren't so bad. Well done, guys!

New Year's Eve

Poster for New Year's Eve Party

Since no one had come forward to organise a formal New Year's Eve party, Jan Hone and Di Croker are organising an informal event at the club, with a buffet where everyone brings a dish.
For more details, have a look at the posting on the forum.

 Christmas Party

On 10th December in the morning, Julian and his gang strengthened fences, cleared the rubbish and generally tidied up the outside of the club in preparation for the winter. They've all done a grand job.
Meanwhile, inside the clubhouse, we were busy putting up decorations, hanging tinsel and laying out party food for the annual Christmas party.
15 guests joined in games and competitions, food and refreshments, not forgetting face-painting! The "Hunt the Santas" competition started off the party with 15 guests (and their mums and dads) looking for little Santas hidden everywhere in the club. The treat of the afternoon was the guest appearance of a red-clad, white-bearded man who distributed presents for all.
A very enjoyable afternoon to start off the Christmas celebrations.
