Work parties

Shovelling shingle off the ramp Varnishing winch housingThis month is traditionally the time for work parties, so that the club is all spruced up when we come back to sailing. Bob Trevis, our bosun, has planned 3 work parties:

  • Sunday 09 March
  • Saturday 15 March
  • Sunday 23 March (Easter Sunday)

All work parties start at 9.30am. It's not all hard work and it's a great way to catch up with the news after a long winter. There's hot drinks and biscuits, a good laugh and good company. More importantly, our club is run and maintained by its members. Come along and make a difference!

LSC Bike ride

On the way to Southwater and lunch during the ride last MarchIt's fast becoming a tradition: the Lancing Sailing Club bike ride will take place on Good Friday (21st March).

We're going to do the same route as last year, because the Downs Link is a gentle and safe offroad ride and Southwater café a nice place to have lunch.

We're meeting in Bramber Castle car park and planning to leave at 10.30am.

Over the last few years, it's been a lovely fun ride with all abilities and all ages catered for. No need to be a champion, just grab your bike and come along!

I already have a few people on the list. Please post your name on the dedicated thread in the forum or let me know you're coming on 01273 703512. We don't want to leave without you!

 Club series starting this month

Club racing starting again next month After many long weeks of inaction, the boats are itching to get afloat once again. The first day of the season is coming nearer, and we are all going to be there on the 30th March.
The 2008 updated version of the Duty Rota calendar for the first few weeks is already up and running, with the rest of the year coming in the next two weeks. Please make sure you're checking your e-mails and ticking off the duties in plenty of time. Thank you.

 Europe Nationals

Visit the Europe pagePeople have been very busy with all preparations for the Europe Nationals in July this year. The class association stand at the Dinghy show was decorated with posters and flyers promoting the event and everyone on the stand was looking forward to coming to Lancing in the summer. Have a look at the Europe Nationals 2008 page on this site. All suggestions and improvements are welcome!
